01.10.2018 : The Institution of Engineers (India), Andhra Pradesh State Center in association with Builders Association of India, Amaravathi Center organized World Habitat Day at Dr. KL Rao Bhavan, Governorpet, Vijayawada on Monday, the 01st October, 2018.

Er. Rambabuji, FIE welcomed the gathering and invited the dignitaries on to the dais. Er. M RS Prakasa Rao, FIE, Former Chairman of Vijayawada introduced the speaker, while Dr. P Kodanda Rama Rao, FIE, Chairman of AP State Center presided over the meeting. Shri Uday Singh Gautam, M.Sc, (Disaster Mitigation), LLB, Program Manager, AP Sanitation Project - II, Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad was the speaker. Nearly 50 Members participated in the meeting.

The speaker while addressing the gathering on the above occasion on this year's theme : MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT said that today Municipal Solid Waste Management is one of the major activities for Urban and Rural bodies. With the invention of different types of plastic materials and public behavior towards generating mixed garbage does not allow the local bodies to find proper solution for processing huge amounts of garbage.

Swatch Bharat Mission given away by creating large scale awareness among public regarding litter free areas and to segregate waste into dry and wet at house hold level. Also commercial and bulk waste generators are identified, encouraged, resolutions passed for them to manage their garbage by establishing small organic garbage processing plants.

Finally, Swatch Bharat Mission providing sanitation ranking for all the cities in India who manages their organic garbage by processing using different technologies either at centralized or de-centralized plants. The speaker has elaborated different techniques to be adopted making garbage management and easy task. He also shown away to segregate only dry waste with love, so that the remaining will be organic which can be easily processed. If every citizens thoughts segregating and processing his own waste, then the garbage generated by city will go down like anything.

The Chairman of the Builders Association of India, Amaravathi Center Shri A Nagamalleswara Rao also spoken on the above occasion.

As a token of gratitude, a felicitation was done by giving a shawl, bouquet and Certificate of Excellence to Shri Uday Singh Gautam by Dr. P Kodanda Rama Rao, FIE, Chairman of AP State Center and Shri A Nagamalleswara Rao and other senior members both from IEI, AP State Center and Builders Association of India.. Finally, vote of thanks was proposed by Er. GV Srinivasulu, MIE, Imm. Past Hon. Secretary, IEI, AP State Center.
